Nobody gets the better tiles
One random 86-letter sequence is dealt to everyone in the game. All players start with the same 7 letters and refill from the identical order - so luck is taken out and it's All's Fair.

Each player builds words on a private 15x15 board - you can't see anyone else's, only their score and how many tiles they have left. Your first word can go anywhere; later words must connect, cross-word style.

One puzzle a day. The whole world. The same letters.

Every day at midnight UTC a new puzzle opens, and every player on Earth gets exactly the same 86 letters on the same board. You get one go — there's no replay, because seeing the letters twice would make it a memory test instead of a race.
You're ranked on points per minute: your final score divided by the time you took. Both halves of the game count, so scoring high slowly doesn't help you.
It's the one ranking every player shares, whatever else they've unlocked — and it's free!
Three ways to play, two of them are free,
and always will be!

One iPad games are just that, games that you can play on a single iPad. You can practice alone to work out your strategy, or play with up to five friends (always free).
When you think you're ready you can take on the world in the Daily Tournament. The same new tile set to everyone, everywhere, everyday!
Finally, take on friends and other players online. Multiplayer games are played across multiple iPads, with each player signed into Game Center on their own device, allowing results to count towards the world rankings. To unlock online multiplayer, including ranked play on the Classic board and other available boards, purchase Multiplayer Mode from the Store.
Nearby games work over your local network or Bluetooth — everyone in the same room, no internet required.

Want a background theme to help you get into your zone? Try Cat Nap or Dog Tired, with more planned . Tell us what would help your brain glide through the letters.

Too easy? The Board Pack adds three more layouts — Courtyard, Crossroads and Latticework — with blocked squares and the multipliers moved. Each one has its own worldwide ranking, so a new board means a fresh leaderboard to climb.
No rush if you'd rather not
For when you'd rather think than race.
Relaxed games aren't ranked, because points per minute means nothing without a clock — so the app tells you before you start one, not after. Host a game with relaxed left on and you're asked whether you meant to; anyone joining sees it before they commit.
